SCOTT BRISBANE
Natural Therapist
Specialising in craniosacral therapy, acupuncture,
flower essences and naturopathy
Time: 10.00 am—11.00 am
Topic: “Scott will be discussing the relevance of body work and specifically
craniosacral therapy in the treatment of anxiety disorders. The body is often
understated or even ignored in such conditions. It seems to be the common
belief that the body has little or no relevance in the cause or treatment of
these conditions. Scott will be presenting “the case for the body” in the
treatment of anxiety disorders.”
Scott Brisbane has been practising as a natural therapist in Kew, Melbourne for over 20 years.
He uses craniosacral therapy, acupuncture, flower essences and naturopathy to help stimulate
the natural self healing abilities of the body. Scott has also taught and lectured at many colleges
around Melbourne. Before he became a natural therapist he studied Environmental Science at
Melbourne State College and then taught science and mathematics at various secondary colleges
in Melbourne. Studying environmental science was Scott’s introduction to holistic thinking. It
taught him how even small changes to an environment or eco-system can affect the whole. He
later learnt to apply the same thinking to the body.

NIVEDITA SARASWATI
Natural Health Practitioner
and Yoga Teacher
Time: 11.00 am— 12.00 pm
Nivedita Saraswati is a qualified Natural Health Practitioner and has been practising for many years.
She is also a qualified yoga teacher and has been teaching for 30 years to people of all ages including
spritely 90 year olds.
All of her classes and assorted workshops have filled her with great joy and she has met many wonderful
students along the way who have also become close friends.
She is making more time now for individual consultations and she mainly works with women and children.
Her other love is her art after completing 12 months study of Contemporary Art and Craft last year;
however she still prefers to paint Angels.
She has always been enthusiastic about what she does and loves every aspect of her work whether it is
Yoga or Natural Healing.
Natural Healing involves working with Kinesiology and using muscle testing to identify blockages in a
clients meridian system (as in Chinese Medicine teachings) and clearing the blockages energetically and
also with Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) which involves the client tapping on specific points of their
upper body and saying specific affirmations at the same time.
This has the effect of diffusing stress, painful past memories (even from childhood), Anxiety and in some
cases severe pain which may be caused stress and trauma now because they haven’t been resolved from
the cellular level.
By identifying the cause of the emotional blockage and the specific age or incident, or how one was
feeling before, during or after an event, the distress in the cellular memory is then released and dissolved
and the client is then able to move on and make more healthy and happy choices in their lives.
She works in this way and with other more advanced techniques when appropriate with clients through
every level, depending on what the issue may be, in body, mind, emotions, soul and spirit.
During the seminar, Nivedita will be talking about her own battle with insomnia and how she manages it – it will be a fun session with time for practical EFT practice and a short chat on how to use affirmations to
their best advantage.
Nivedita has two CD’s which will be available for purchase on the day for a special ADAVIC price of
$20 each (normally $25 each)
Entitled “Heart of Healing” consists of three beautiful tracks that can be used for meditation
purposes or a better nights sleep
“Psychic Sleep” is a 50 minute long guided meditation focusing on yoga nidra.
This CD is aimed at those suffering from insomnia; it is so influential that if you stay awake as you
listen to it, it gives the body enough rest equivalent to 4 hours sleep.

ZOE NICHOLSON, Dietitian, Food, Nutrition and
Fitness Specialist
Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics and a Bachelor of Applied Science
(Health Science)
Time: 1.30 pm—2 .30 pm
Topic: “ How a healthy diet can help improve your mood in order to help relieve the
symptoms of anxiety”
Zoe Nicholson has been awarded a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics and a Bachelor of Applied
Science (Health Science) and is a professional member of the Dietitian’s Association of Australia
(DAA). Being an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) with DAA, Zoe is highly qualified to assist
you in meeting your nutrition and dietary goals.
Healthy eating is generally not rocket science. You probably already have a general idea of the
foods you should be eating more of or less of in order to improve your health or lose weight.
Therefore, the issue is often not what you are eating but why you choose to eat what you do and
until this is dealt with, you may find it very difficult to make long-term dietary changes. It is also
for this reason that diets don’t work. Diets only deal with what are you eating rather than the
reasons why.
This is where I can help you.
Dealing with the reasons why you eat the way you do, involves behaviour modification and an
understanding of where your behaviours stem from. To help you with this, I have been trained in
Health Coaching techniques by Health Coaching Australia. Health coaching uses evidence-based
psychological, counselling and coaching principles and techniques to assist people to achieve
long-term behaviour change.
Having a healthy diet can Increase your energy levels and make you feel happier and healthier
both mentally and physically and can help you start losing weight sensibly and keep it off

great music for fun, health and relaxation.
It is suitable for all levels of fitness, ages and abilities as moving the body energises and nourishes our
physical and mental health, and our emotional as well as our psychological experience and well being.
Moving with mindfulness, in ways that feel good and becoming more present to the sensations of our
bodies and our breathing has a quietening and meditative experience on the mind which can help in reducing
anxiety and depression.
Deborah will be demonstrating some Qigong exercises that work with building energy which help in making
the mind and body feeling refreshed and recharged.
No prior knowledge or experience is necessary as movements are shown at different levels so everyone
can find the level that feels right to them.
The motto of Nia is the Joy of Movement.
