This is a great opportunity to join a well regarded insurance company in an exciting and fast paced role with a good mix of analysis and Support.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provision of Production Support services to the various General Business systems Users including –

* Effective and timely response to issues raised * Analysis and prioritisation of issues, escalating as required * Clear and concise communications * SQL interrogation of system database for reporting and issue analysis * End Of Month Reconciliations * Product Configurations * Policy Wording administration * External and Internal file transfer administration

Provision of Development and Enhancement services to the various General Business systems Users including-

* Analysis and prioritisation of new Development requests in keeping with the overall IT strategy of the company * Developing Business requirement and functional specifications that design and document desired outcome of system enhancement / development. * Liaising with User groups to gather and analyse end user requirements * Communicate User requirements in technical terms to programming / development team * Development, maintenance and execution of UAT and Regression test scripts * Working as a crucial component of the team responsible for enhancing existing or developing new system functionality * Ensure end users are directly involved when developing business requirements for new functionality

KEY SKILLS

* Excellent analytical skills and ability to “think outside the square”. * Proficient SQL skills for interrogation of the database * Excellent and evidenced written and oral communication skills. * Ability to empathise with users and their needs. * Strong customer and business focus with understanding of business drivers and commercial imperatives, financial, market and product related * Understanding of and commitment to quality principles * Self-motivated and able to demonstrate and contribute own initiatives; prepared to offer solutions and not be frightened of making mistakes * Medium to high level of understanding of General Insurance principals – (ie: Underwriting, Claims and Reinsurance). * Direct experience and strong understanding in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle * Proficient PC skills including knowledge of how to use the software packages adopted by the Company. * Ability to consistently meet deadlines
