Tester

Genix Ventures provides software and professional services to a range of industries including financial services, healthcare and life sciences, utilities and government. We are currently seeking 3 testers who can meet the challenges and be part of a dynamic team. The tester will be responsible in assisting design and development of test requirements and test cases, execution of the tests and resolution of software defects.

The focus of your day will see you on the following:

* Reviewing technical documentation, specifications and use cases * Developing test plans and test cases * Execution of test cases * Recording issues in the defect tracking system * Participate in system specification reviews * Working closely with the business analyst and development team * Following up on defects

Ideally the candidate should have:

* Prior commercial experience in the above would be highly regarded [but not essential] * Experience in testing web based applications would be highly regarded. * Well developed team work and interpersonal skills * Good organizational and communication skills * Ability to document issues in a clear and reproducible format * Ability to think outside the box and to work with minimal supervision * Ability to identify issues and describe system behavior in lieu of requirements * Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to internal methodologies * Prior experience in testing and development would be an advantage * Working knowledge of HTML * Basic understanding of usability issues * Logical reasoning and analytical ability

This is a casual position and the applicant will need to be available within the contract period as required. The position will initially be for 3 Month with a high possibility of an ongoing contract for a further 3 month period and view to permanency in the long term for the right candidate.

This is a good opportunity for IT graduates or for people looking for an entry level test role.

The daily rate on offer will be from $20.00 – $30.00 per hour depending on experience.
